About Our Summer Festival

Your Ticket to Enjoyable Activities for the Whole Family

Looking for an affordable family get together?  Be sure to attend Crookston Ox Cart Days August 12th-18th in Crookston, Minnesota.  This is your ticket to the year’s hottest summer get together.  Now in its 30th year, this community event is a celebration of tradition, honor and fun that only our community can deliver.  It is also the best way to make new friends, catch up with old ones and check out the many businesses and entities our city has to offer.  We will host events at the beautiful University of Minnesota Crookston campus, the Downtown Square, Central Park, and at some of our fantastic businesses.

We welcome you to check out our historic Downtown District as we offer patio party lunches daily along with a week long Customer Appreciation Celebration by many of our local retailers.  Sidewalk sales, food, fun and celebration right in the heart of our beautiful city.

A summer festival would be nothing without great food and ice cold beverages and we will be hosting a mouthwatering Rib Fest contest, the Corn and Brat Feed as well as several choices from amazing food vendors.  This year we offer up many new beer, wine and drink selections with both the Irishman's Shanty and Drafts Sports Bar serving up many of your favorite choices!

Parades, Contests, and More

Of course we will feature the long standing Classic Cruisers vintage car show in Central Park hosted by the Crookston Classic Cruisers.  Along with that we have many competitions, contests and activity based options like Dodgeball, Twins Trivia, Karaoke, Lip Sync Contest, Happy Joe's Pizza Eating Contest, Lumberjack Log Rolling, Tractor Pull, Beanbag and Corn Hole Tournaments, 5k, 10k and Kid's run, and of course the Little Miss, Junior Miss, Miss Crookston and Miss Tootsie Pageants.  We offer many kid-friendly choices including a petting zoo, pony rides, Build a Buddy workshop, bouncy houses and $1 matinees.  We cater to all ages with our BMX and skateboard exhibition, juggler, hypnotist and parades.  If you are looking for concerts, look no further as we have fantastic musical entertainment including Tim Eggebraaten, The Downtown Horns, The Island Time Band, The Jensen Sisters and our street dance headliner the Johnny Holm Band.

Honor and Tradition

Crookston Ox Cart Days serves not only as a way to celebrate with friends and family, but also to honor our community heroes. Each year we have a ceremony to pay tribute to and honor our local Veterans and thank them for their service, this year we will combine this with the annual ice cream social at the beautiful University of Minnesota Crookston Campus.   There will be the traditional pancake feed hosted by our local firefighters and police at the Fire Hall as they encourage families to tour their facility.
